Fast Setup, Accurate Results

Leap ST streamlines your workflow by minimizing part preparation and post-scan restoration time. Its ability to handle a wide range of parts and assemblies allows users to scan more components in less time – boosting productivity while maintaining high measurement accuracy.

Maximum Versatility

With five specialized scanning modes, Leap ST can handle everything from large components to intricate features such as deep holes and fine details commonly found in engine chassis. This eliminates the need for multiple metrology tools, allowing users to do more with a single device. Leap ST is fully compatible with leading metrology software and also supports integration via an available software development kit (SDK), making it ideal for custom software environments or automated measurement systems.

Accelerated Scanning

The advanced optical design enables wide target spacing, reducing the effort and time required to apply targets on parts. Users can switch between scanning modes on the fly, without pausing or returning to the workstation – capturing exactly what’s needed in one continuous workflows.

Reliable, Trusted Results

Leap ST meets the highest standards of accuracy and repeatability. Certified under the stringent VDI/VDE 2634 standard and supported by ISO 17025-compliant accredited calibration labs, it delivers traceable results you can count on – ensuring confidence in every measurement.

Easy to Learn and Use

With seamless software integration, Leap ST is simple to adopt. It works effortlessly with FARO CAM2 Scan Professional Software and other leading metrology platforms, giving users in flexibility to work in their preferred environment. This reduces training time, minimizes maintenance costs and lowers the need for specialized expertise.

Ultra-fast Scanning

As Leap ST’s primary scanning mode, ultra-fast scanning uses multiple lasers to quickly capture data across the entire field of view. This mode enhances the identification of part features, enabling rapid and efficient coverage—ideal for small to medium-sized parts.

Hyper fine Scanning

The high-resolution mode utilizes seven parallel lasers at a limited standoff distance to achieve exceptional point density – as fine as 0.010mm. Hyper fine scanning can be applied selectively within an ultra-fast scanning workflow, allowing detailed data capture only where necessary. This targeted approach keeps the final 3D model lightweight and optimized for downstream processes.

Deep Hole Scanning

Designed for hard-to-reach geometries, this mode uses a uniquely triangulated laser line, configured by minimizing the baseline between the projector and a single camera. This configuration significantly enhances the scanner’s ability to reach into deep holes and tight spaces, enabling accurate inspection of complex internal features.

Large-area Scanning

Equipped with 11 parallel infrared laser lines, this mode enables broad-area coverage, making it ideal for scanning large components or capturing major features. It is also perfect for performing an initial rough scan of medium to large parts.

Photogrammetry

To reduce cumulative error over long scanning trajectories, Leap ST includes an integrated photogrammetry capability. Unlike traditional photogrammetry systems that require extra accessories, everything you need –  such as scale bars – is included in the box, making setup simple and efficient. This mode enhances accuracy and complements other scanning workflows seamlessly.

In-Process Parts Inspection

Catching issues early in the manufacturing process is crucial to minimizing rework, waste and scrap. Leap ST makes this easier with fewer required targets, faster scanning speeds and advanced metrology technology. It not only defects when a part or machine is out of tolerance – it also helps predict when it’s trending in that direction. For greater efficiency, Leap ST can be integrated into automated inspection systems, enabling real-time monitoring and helping production managers maintain tight process control with minimal downtime.

Final Inspection

From automotive components to marine vessels and aircraft turbines, Leap ST ensures that medium to large parts meet strict quality standards. Its high-precision scanning – manual or automated – closes the inspection loop quickly, allowing teams to move on the next project with confidence, saving both time and costs.

Reverse Engineering

Complex and detailed shapes can be challenging to design or verify without reliable scan data. Many legacy parts lack a digital model, making redesign or adaptation time-consuming. Leap ST simplifies reverse engineering by capturing detailed 3D data with minimal setup. This accelerates the creation of CAD models and speeds up the development process-getting products to market faster.

Hybrid Workflows

Leap ST offers seamless switching between five distinct scanning modes, allowing users to efficiently capture everything form large surfaces to fine details and deep geometries – all with a single tool. Its broad area coverage and high-speed data acquisition minimize setup time and streamline the scanning process, making it and ideal solution for a wide range of industrial applications.

High Accuracy Scanning

Delivering accuracy down to 20 microns, Leap ST is perfect for demanding applications such as automotive, aerospace and shipbuilding. Its ability to scan large areas without repositioning the device enhances efficiency on-site while maintaining precision. The system’s flexibility allows users to tailor its use to meet their specific needs.

Any Surface Scanning

Designed to handle a variety of surfaces, Leap ST maintains high scan quality regardless of material finish or geometry. Multiple scanning modes provide tailored solutions for complex inspections, ensuring optimal performance across diverse applications.

High Target Distance

Leap ST’s advanced optical design and powerful algorithms reduce the number of targets needed per scan. This significantly cuts down on preparation time while maintaining data accuracy and quality—resulting in faster, more efficient scanning.

Integration Ready

Equipped with an available Software Development Kit (SDK) and mechanical mounting options, Leap ST is built for seamless integration into automated manufacturing  and inspection systems. Whether part of a robotic cell or a custom measurement workflow, it fits easily into industrial environment for fully automated operations.
